HA4 Task 6 – Evaluation

With this project, i enjoyed it as i liked the theme because i got to choose my camera. I think i planned things out well and left time for planning and organizing things for my advert and filming days, but i think with the editing side, my time wasn't managed well as i was off for a day which meant i had to edit and process the video and sound together in the same day as uploading the video to YouTube.
My production log explains my managed time and what i did on those days. I completed this project over a period of around 3 months. I kept my original idea and researched if there were already any UK adverts out there for my product, to which there were not. I also researched who Fuji film's target audience were for this camera, which turned out to be anyone as the camera comes in a variety of colours and when google imaged, different type of pictures come up such as friends together or people travelling, it is aimed at an audience of people who want to capture a moment without effects or social media.
With this research in my knowledge, i created a mind map of idea to show people using the camera such as people at a party, a family, people with their hobby's etc. i only chose 3 ideas to film for the final edit as i didn't have enough time to fit other events in. I ended up choosing someone with a creative hobby, someone with a psychical hobby and someone who likes to walk around // travelling.
I think i chose the right events as it shows all types of people using the camera and enjoying the cameras use's. I also think i chose the right music as it stars of slow and eventually kicks in to show more people using the camera and provides an upbeat tone to the advert.

During editing in Adobe Premier Pro, i struggled to chose which event to put in what order because of the tone of the music but eventually decided on the current order. I also struggled to choose what clips to use for each event as i had filmed several for each with different angles and views of the event, but settled for the main clips to show the usage of the camera such as a photo being taken and turned on rather than a couple of seconds clips showing the surrounding background scene.
I then put all clips into order and set out the outro clips, such as showing a selection of the photos taken on the camera in a fast motion, then the camera ontop of those photos. I then found a picture of the cameras logo and set it into Adobe Photoshop and created it into a vector image to become a clear background to lay ontop of the clip at the end of the video. I then rendered the whole advert, and exported it to become a real video and then uploaded it to my YouTube channel.
Overall, i wish i had a little more time for the editing process as i could of managed to fit more clips in and maybe edited the song a little better to fit the advert properly. Overall of this, i think i managed everything else well and my outcome was good.

HA4 Task 5 – Post-production

HA4 Task 4 – Production

HA4 Task 3 – Pre-production

HA4 Task 2 – Ideas Generation

HA4 Task 1 – Research for Production

My chosen object of desire is my Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Camera, which is a Polaroid style camera where the photograph taken, prints out straight away from the top of the camera. This camera can be fun to use by people of any age.
When it comes to advertisement for this product, there isn't an official advert, but there are a few adverts that advertise the camera such as FujiFilmJapan, which only advertise's the camera in japan psychically. Obviously they would've been advertised in some sort of way from FujiFilm, but with the camera being a Polaroid style camera, it would be quite popular, therefore would advertise its self.
The camera's target audience is mainly people who like to travel and or take a lot of pictures to capture the moment. It gives the user a sense of capturing everything naturally, as these photos can't be photo shopped or messed with in any way because its an instant photo.
